Telegram Profile Photos If you are using Telegram on your PC, Laptop, or another device, your secret chat is only visible to your device that you started it. In fact, Telegram supports verifiable builds that allow outside developers to check whether the code published on GitHub is the exact same code that is used to create the app, which you have downloaded from Google Play or App Store.
To use this feature, head over to the hamburger menu by swiping right and choose Contacts. Choose βFind People Nearbyβ and here you will see a list of contacts who have chosen to be visible. You can also scroll down to see all nearby groups and the option to create your own. Users who wish to be discovered by this feature can turn it on in the hamburger menu/People Nearby/Make myself visible. Depending on what Android skin your phone uses and how much RAM you are usually left with to spare, Androidβs algorithms may close Telegram and other apps in the background, delaying your new message notifications till when you open the app again manually. Telegram offers a few other handy options in chats. You can delete any message by long-pressing it, then hitting the Trash icon that appears. The app lets you delete messages at any timeβeven messages that the other person sent in a chat. Furthermore, you can view how much Mobile or WiFi data you have consumed so far. Just tapping on βData Usageβ, and it will show you βBytes sentβ and βBytes receivedβ of individual file types.
Plus, if youβre using the βsecret chatsβ feature, youβre getting the same level of end-to-end encryption. On top of this, users canβt forward or screenshot messages in secret chats, and messages can be programmed to self-destruct. Deleting a message also deletes it for everyone on the service, and users have the option to delete not just their own messages, but other usersβ messages, too. Itβs also worth mentioning that all chats are encrypted, even if not end-to-end encrypted. The iPhone 14 wonβt have a physical SIM β hereβs what that means for you So, if you want to create different chat folders on Telegram for your use case then follow along. Open the hamburger menu and move to Settings -> Folders. Here, tap on βCreate New Folderβ and give a name like personal, work, fun, unread, etc. After that, add the chats that you would like to appear in this folder. Similarly, you can add the kinds of chats that you donβt want to be grouped under this folder. This way Telegram will learn your preferences. Now, the main screen will move to a tabbed UI making it easier to use and manage Telegram. How awesome is that? One of the worst parts about messaging apps is that anyone can add you to random groups without your active permission. However, the good part is that Telegram gives you an option to disable it altogether. You can change the desired settings from Settings menu -> Privacy and Security -> Groups -> My Contacts and then select all the Telegram users to βNever Allowβ. I canβt tell you how much I love this Telegram trick.
Lock Your Chats Telegram allows you to manage the device storage: you can choose to delete media (photos, videos, and other files) shared on the app. All files will be deleted from your device after the specified duration, but they will stay in the Telegram cloud forever, so you can re-download them when you need them again. There is also an option to delete the cache and local database.
